Frequently Asked Questions
How can Ideal Home Group save you money
It depends entirely how you manage your electricity usage. If you use timer switches to ensure that you are using equipment such as washing machines, tumble driers, dishwashers etc. during daylight hours you could reduce your electricity bill by about a half.
No, in fact quite the opposite. The energy saving trust claims their research proves that buyers will pay up to £10,000 more for an environmentally friendly house - and that 70% of all buyers consider energy efficiency to be of high importance when buying a home.
How does Ideal Home Group help the environment
Nearly all scientists agree that global temperatures will rise further. As a result, there are likely to be more intense and frequent extreme weather events (Directgov October 2011). In fact global temperatures have warmed by 0.75°C in the last century. This has been demonstrated in 2009 by being the worst floods the UK has seen for 270 years.
Electricity generation accounts for around 30% of all UK CO2 emissions. This needs to be reduced if we are to meet our commitment to reduce our CO2 emissions by 80%. Any improvements to the energy efficiency of our homes could result in a significant reduction in our national CO2 emissions.
Yes, our research shows that home buyers are willing to move for an environmentally friendly house - and that 70% consider energy efficiency to be important when buying a home. Over 80% of tenants also say that they find the information on EPCs helpful when choosing a property.
No. Energy Performance Certificates are valid for ten years. But don’t forget that if you’ve made significant energy saving improvements – installing a new boiler for example – it will be worth getting a new certificate to tell potential buyers or renters about the improvements you’ve made.

How can Ideal Home Group work for you
Due to the expertise of our Technical Assessors it is actually taking our teams only ONE day, with scaffolding erected the day prior to installation. Our electricians will need access to your loft space in order to fit a voltage inverter and one of our specialist meters, whilst our roofing teams install the panels. It is not a disruptive process at all.
Our system has been designed for the Northern European climate and they do not need direct sunlight. They work on natural daylight (diffused radiation).
